At We Plant it Forward, nature brings us together and guides our work. By observing nature, we seek to understand how best to be stewards of the Earth and to live in harmony with nature to restore and preserve the environment.

Mission

We preserve and restore the natural environment for the benefit of future generations through hands-on activities, community engagement, and environmental education bringing harmony to all life.

Vision

We Plant it Forward is building a grassroots community network that works together to restore and preserve the natural environment. It is our overall goal that tree planting become an everyday household and community practice, to make accessible the cutting edge practices that bring health back to the natural environment so that they become a common everyday practice, to see people experiencing and learning from the natural environment everyday, to build a culture that values and understands the importance of restoring and preserving natural environment. Ultimately, we seek to help people build a way of life where we are happy, healthy, and nurturing a thriving natural environment.

  • We value observing and listening to nature so we can learn about what we need to do to take care of it.

    • Look at what trees are native to the area and plant native trees.

    • Our Carbon Sequestration pages provide best management practices for ecological engagement.

  • We value activities that involve people in constructive work.  

    • We announce volunteer opportunities for our tree planting and tree giveaway events.

    • We hold rain barrel workshops so that people can make and take home a rain barrel to conserve water.

    • We welcome people to share their ideas on how to improve the environment so that we might explore a collaborative working relationship.

    • We have developed partnerships with other organizations to scale our ability to promote tree planting, water conservation and environmental sustainability.

    • We actively search out the most helpful information and display it on our website so others can benefit from it.

    • We plant trees locally. This cleans the air locally, but ripples out globally through the atmosphere.

    • We promote collection of rainwater as it reduces the use of piped water.

    • With some planning, we are ready to work anywhere in the world that is a safe place.

  • We value sharing knowledge, an open source model, to improve life and empower people to restore a healthy environment and preserve thriving ecosystems.

    • We offer our Resource and Nature Connected Education pages on our website, YouTube channel and social media outlets to help people learn in the natural environment

    • We hold rain barrel workshops where people make their own rain barrel and learn about water conservation.

  • We value biodiversity (diversity among people and species of animals and plants) as key to having a thriving environment and happy life.

    • We plant and give away diverse types of native trees to all kinds of people young and old, regardless of what you look like, where you come from, what orientation you are, what abilities you have or what moves your spirit.

  • We value a thriving environment that has the resiliency to recover from damaging events, man made or natural disasters.

    • We give trees away so people can add to their tree canopy.

    • We offer ideas on how to grow food at home. By doing this you are lessening your impact on the environment.

    • We plant trees that filter pollution out of water and help sequester large amounts of carbon dioxide out the the air.

  • We value taking responsibility to clean up after ourselves.

    • After we conduct an event, we leave it looking better than when we arrived.

    • We recycle materials whenever possible when conducting our events.

    • We purchase products made with recycled materials whenever possible.
